Liverpool custodian Simon Mignolet has insisted that his side are looking forward to their clash with Manchester City at the Yankee Stadium tomorrow.

The Reds, who edged out Olympiacos 1-0 in their International Champions Cup opener at the weekend, are next up against their Premier League rivals in the pre-season tournament.

And although Mignolet explained the prime focus of pre-season is to regain full fitness, the goalkeeper is aware that his side’s match with the Citizens is a huge game, which will be followed by many.

The Belgian international also added that both sets of players will be eager to do well and showcase their talents in the fixture between the Premier League’s top two teams from last season.

“The first thing in pre-season is getting back to fitness", Mignolet explained to his club’s official site.
