Paris Saint-Germain have offered Ezequiel Lavezzi to Atletico Madrid to make way for Angel di Maria to join the squad.

The Argentine joined the French club in 2012 from Napoli and still has two years left on his contract with the Parisians.

PSG are working on a deal to bring Di Maria from Real Madrid and need to sell players to open up slots in the squad and ease their financial burden.

Lavezzi is one of the players the French champions are looking to offload this summer and the Argentine has been offered to Atletico Madrid, according to Spanish daily AS.

Atletico Madrid CEO Miguel Angel Gil was in Paris yesterday to work out a deal to bring Lavezzi to Spain this summer.

Diego Simeone is also believed to be keen to add the Argentine’s attacking talent to the squad which will look to defend the Spanish title next season.

However, Lavezzi will have to take a pay cut if his move to Atletico Madrid is to materialise as the club are not willing to match the wages that he is currently on at PSG.

The winger has made 90 appearances for PSG, scoring 23 goals and providing 14 assists.
