Saint-Etienne striker Brandao is ready to join Bastia, but must still work out an agreement to end his contract with Les Verts one year early.

The Brazilian was recently in England for talks with Sheffield Wednesday, but an agreement with the Owls has not been forthcoming, with the veteran striker now on the verge of signing a deal with Bastia.

Brandao is under contract with Saint-Etienne until 2015 and is talking with the club in an effort to terminate his contract.

According to reports from France, Brandao is ready to sign for Bastia, but a contract annulment with Saint-Etienne is needed before the transfer can proceed.

Indeed, Bastia are unable to pay a fee for the 34-year-old and are in limbo until Saint-Etienne agree to release him.
