Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has admitted that his side could well scoop up Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez before the transfer window slams shut this summer.
The Spanish champions have been linked with making a move for the Mexican as they bid to strengthen their attacking options in an effort to defend their crown.
And with Hernandez having grown frustrated at a lack of first team football at Old Trafford, the Vicente Calderon could present the striker with an attractive new home.
Asked at a press conference about the possibility of Atletico Madrid signing Hernandez, Simeone replied: "Hernandez and other football players who may be on Atletico's radar could well be possible before the transfer window closes."
Hernandez is currently with Manchester United on their pre-season tour of the United States, bidding to impress the club's new manager Louis van Gaal.

However, it is unclear whether the Mexico international will be kept on by Van Gaal as he looks to reshape his squad, especially with Atletico Madrid interested.
A switch to Atletico Madrid would mean Champions League football for Hernandez next season, with Manchester United having missed out on the competition.
