Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is considering offloading Santi Cazorla to Atletico Madrid and launching a move for Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus to replace the Spaniard, according to ITV.

Cazorla has long been on Atletico Madrid's radar, but affording the former Malaga man has appeared a tough ask for Los Rojiblancos.

However, having won La Liga and raised significant funds from the sales of Diego Costa and Filipe Luis, along with reaching the Champions League final, while David Villa has been shed from the wage bill, Diego Simeone's men may be in a position to make a move for Cazorla.

The midfielder is thought to be ready to return to Spain, if Arsenal agree to sell, while the Gunners have further added to the transfer speculation by stopping pre-printing shirts with the player's name on.

While Cazorla's departure is not done and dusted, Wenger is pondering who might replace the midfielder at the Emirates Stadium.

And top of the Frenchman's list is Dortmund schemer Reus, a player Arsenal have been linked with at points over the last 18 months.

Wenger will have hungrily digested recent news from Germany which revealed Reus to have rejected a new contract at Dortmund.

Reus' contract allows for him to leave next summer for a set price of €35m and Dortmund are working overtime in a bid to remove that specific clause from their agreement with the player.

However, despite offering to increase the midfielder's salary from €5m per year to €7m per year, Reus has not agreed to remove the clause.
