New Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has saluted his side’s attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.

The Catalan giants, who failed to win any major trophy in the 2013/14 campaign, have replaced Gerardo Martino with Luis Enrique at the helm and have also considerably improved their squad in the summer.

Apart from signing Rakitic from La Liga rivals Sevilla, Barcelona have also roped in Liverpool’s prolific striker Suarez to play alongside Messi and Neymar.

And Rakitic, who feels he could be operating behind the three best players in the world, however underlined the importance of playing as a team.

"I think that these three players are maybe the best players in the world”, the Croatian international told FIFA’s official site.

"I think from these players we can learn so much. We have to work together to be a strong team, a hard team."

Rakitic reserved special praise for fellow summer signing Suarez, who is currently serving a four-month ban for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup.

The former Sevilla star insisted that he is hopeful about the Uruguay international reproducing his Liverpool form for his new employers.

"I think he is one of the best players in the world, so of course, I would like it if he could be with us today or tomorrow”, he continued.

“I am expecting that he can start soon with us and I hope that he will do the same things for Barcelona like he did for Liverpool."
