Former Juventus striker David Trezeguet has joined Indian Super League outfit FC Pune City as their marquee player.

The ISL franchisee announced the Frenchman’s signing earlier today along with the appointment of former Napoli manager Franco Colomba as their head coach.




Trezeguet spent the last two seasons at Argentine outfit River Plate and scored 16 goals in 35 appearances for the club.

The 36-year-old was part of France’s World Cup winning squad in 1998 and he scored the winner against Italy in the final of European Championship in 2000.
 


Trezeguet spent more than a decade at Juventus and scored 138 goals in 245 league appearances for the club.

He won the Scudetto twice at the Old Lady and also won the French Ligue 1 title twice with Monaco.

The striker earned 71 international caps for France and scored 34 goals for his country.

The Indian Super League is the brainchild of the All India Football Federation and their commercial partner IMG Reliance. The tournament is scheduled to begin in September this year.
