Malaga are close to agreeing a deal for Mexican World Cup hero and free agent Guillermo Ochoa.

The shot-stopper produced a number of scintillating performances for Mexico in the World Cup, which further enhanced his reputation and sent clubs scurrying in his direction.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool have been credited with holding an interest in Ochoa, along with a host of other European clubs.

His contract with French Ligue 2 side Ajaccio expired last month and his status as a free agent makes him a hot property in the transfer market.

Malaga lost their custodian Willy Caballero to Manchester City this summer and are in the market to sign a top class goalkeeper.
