Celtic manager Ronny Deila has accused his team of losing their heads after they went down to a damaging 4-1 defeat away in Poland against Legia Warsaw this evening.

The Bhoys took the lead at the Pepsi Arena in the first leg of their Champions League third qualifying round tie through Callum McGregor (8th minute).

However, the hosts struck back and turned the match on its head with a brace from Miroslav Radovic (10th and 36th minutes), before Efe Ambrose was sent off for Celtic before the break.

Legia Warsaw scored a further two goals in the second half, but the situation could have been even worse for Celtic, who saw Ivica Vrdoljak miss two penalties.

And Deila pulled no punches after the match, while still holding out some hope for the second leg.

"I think we started quite well and got the first goal and then we conceded an easy goal. After that, we lost our heads", the Norwegian said.

"We lost the ball in the centre of the pitch so many times and the back four didn't stay together.

"They got easy chances and then there was the red card and after that it was a totally different match.

"We started the second half OK but again we weren't together as a team in many situations.

"It was a very poor performance and the worst thing was the commitment and energy, and not staying together for the 90 minutes."

But Deila will not write off his men in the return leg.

"What's done is done and we have to learn from this quick. We got our away a goal and we still have a chance.

"If we go to Murrayfield and give everything and have the supporters behind us, which I know we will. We will try everything we can."
