New Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has revealed he is confident the club will be able to keep hold of Arturo Vidal, following talks with the midfielder.

Manchester United are pushing hard to snap up the Chile international, with the shape of what contract might await him at Old Trafford already under discussion.

Vidal's agent is in Italy and thought to be working hard to move his client to Manchester United, but at the same time the midfielder remains keen not to rock the boat in Turin.

And Allegri has struck a positive note over the Bianconeri's chances of keeping hold of Vidal in the face of fierce Manchester United interest.

"Yesterday I spoke with the boy", Allegri told Sky Italia, when asked about Vidal.

"The club expressed its thoughts and therefore I think he will stay at Juventus", the former AC Milan boss added.

It remains to be seen whether Allegri's optimism is well-placed, especially as Juventus director Pavel Nedved has admitted if Vidal is desperate to leave, the club will not stand in his way.

Nedved also revealed that a substantial offer would cause Juventus to assess the situation.
