Juan Fernando Quintero's agent has warned Arsenal that if they want to sign his client from FC Porto they will have to splash out €40m.

Arsenal have been strongly linked with the Colombia playmaker, with speculation even suggesting the 21-year-old is on his way to London after Arsene Wenger's men offered €20m to secure his services.

But the player's agent has played down that talk, insisting Porto have not considered selling Quintero and Arsenal would need to activate his client's buy-out clause to complete a deal.

Speaking to Portuguese outlet Mais Futebol, Ricardo Calleri said: "Porto haven't spoken about negotiating to sell Juan Quintero.

"Of course clubs are interested. There's lots of interest from clubs in Spain and England in the player.

"But for him to leave, a club have to pay his buy-out clause."

Porto only snapped up Quintero last summer, signing the midfielder from Italian outfit Pescara.

He headed to the World Cup with Colombia this summer, helping the country reach the quarter-finals.
