Tottenham Hotspur have tied down full-back Danny Rose to a new long-term contract.

Rose joined the north London side from Leeds United for a transfer fee of around £1m in 2007.




He spent time on loan at Watford, Peterborough, Bristol City and Sunderland before becoming a regular in Tottenham’s first team squad.

Rose was also named the Young Player of the Year for his performances at Sunderland in the 2012/13 season.
 


The 24-year-old has signed a new five-year contract with the club and which will keep him at White Hart Lane until 2019.

He has made 59 appearances for Spurs, scoring three goals and providing eight assists.

The defender featured for England’s Under-19 and Under-21 side, but has so far failed to make the cut in the senior squad.
