Hellas Verona are close to agreeing a deal to sign left-back Antonio Luna from Aston Villa.

The Spanish full-back joined the Villans last summer from Sevilla and signed a three-year contract with the English club.

Luna made a good start to his career in England with a goal against Arsenal, but gradually fell out of favour at Villa Park and only made 18 appearances for the club.

Italian outfit Hellas Verona expressed an interest in signing him earlier this summer and it seem the 23-year-old is finally on his way out of Villa Park.

The Italians are close to agreeing a deal with Aston Villa to secure Luna’s signature, according to Calcio Mercato, with only the finalisation of the switch remaining.

The full-back will initially join the club on a season-long loan deal with an option to make the move permanent next summer.

The Spaniard is a product of Sevilla’s youth academy and won the Copa del Rey with the club in 2010.
