Edinson Cavani has insisted that he is not pushing to leave Paris Saint-Germain and would be happy to stay put, while still keeping the door slightly open for a departure.

The Uruguay international has been continually linked with Manchester United all summer and his situation at the Parc des Princes is complicated.

Cavani was unhappy last season at being shunted out of position to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while it has been claimed recently his relationship with coach Laurent Blanc is almost non-existent.

The striker's agent is also said to have met with Manchester United officials on four occasions, while PSG's bid to sign Angel di Maria from Real Madrid could yet result in his departure to satisfy UEFA financial fair play rules.

But speaking from the club's tour of Asia, Cavani has claimed to be happy at PSG and not pushing to leave.

"I am sure I will stay, why wouldn't I?", he told reporters.

"I feel very good in Paris. I have a contract with PSG to fulfil.

"I'm calm.

"I'd rather be here. I feel good here.

"As I've already said, it does not depend just on the player's position, but also things that can happen at a club."

Cavani cost PSG €64.5m to sign from Napoli last summer.
