Napoli will not engage in long drawn out negotiations with Manchester United over midfielder Marouane Fellaini and have already made contract over an alternative option.

Last season's Coppa Italia winners are interested in snapping up Fellaini, but have been quoted €25m by Manchester United, who at present are only open to a permanent sale of the Belgian.

That is too rich for Napoli, who first want to take Fellaini on a season-long loan, while also needing Manchester United to contribute towards the midfielder's wages.

It is not clear whether the Red Devils will agree to such an arrangement and Napoli are already making alternative plans.

According to Sky Italia, Rafael Benitez's men are exploring the possibility of signing Lassana Diarra.
