Clement Grenier has rubbished speculation that suggested that he missed Lyon’s training session to force a move out of the club.

The Frenchman’s future at Lyon has faced a barrage of speculation in recent weeks and he has been linked with a move away from the Stade Gerland.

Arsenal and Newcastle United are two clubs that have been consistently linked with Grenier and even AC Milan are reportedly interested in the attacking midfielder.

Grenier has picked up a knock and is currently undergoing rehabilitation, but reports emerged this week that he missed a training session to force a move out of the club, a claim that has been vehemently denied by the player.

"I have read a lot of things about myself recently”, Grenier wrote on his personal website.

"Just to be clear, Lyon's medical and technical staff have set me a specific programme so I can be back at 100 per cent.

"That includes a period spent training indoors. That is why I have not been present at some of the training sessions.”

He further added that he is happy at Lyon and has no gripes with the club.

"I have no problem with the club and have never missed a training session intentionally.

"There is no controversy and my intention is to be back on the pitch and competing as soon as possible."

Grenier has made 116 appearances for Lyon, scoring 15 goals and providing 23 assists. He has also earned five international caps for France.
