Norwegian international defender Brede Hangeland has joined Crystal Palace on a one-year deal.

The 33-year-old was released by Fulham earlier this summer and Palace have snapped him up on a free transfer.

The vastly experienced centre half made 272 appearances for the Cottagers and was part of the Fulham team that played the Europa League final in 2010.

Hangeland has expressed his delight at signing for the Eagles and is looking forward to playing in front of the Palace fans.

“I’m delighted to be here. I look forward to helping out and doing the best I can for this club”, the Norwegian told the club’s official website.

“It’s a traditional club with a big following. I thought the atmosphere here was fantastic and obviously the fans had a lot to be happy about come the end of the season.”

Hangeland has 91 international caps to his name and is the captain of the Norwegian national team.
