Guillermo Ochoa’s move to Malaga is on the verge of completion, as the club prepare to seal the deal today.

Ochoa caught the imagination of a number of top European clubs, including Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, with his performances for Mexico in the World Cup.

Malaga’s interest in the former Ajaccio man was revealed earlier this week and the deal is poised to reach its climax today.

Ochoa and his agent landed in Spain yesterday and a contract could be sealed with Malaga by the end of the day.

The goalkeeper will undergo a medical at the club before signing a three-year contract with Malaga, according to AS.

If everything goes according to plan, the goalkeeper is expected to travel with the squad later today for their pre-season tour of Germany and Switzerland, where they will play three friendlies, against Newcastle United, West Ham and a Qatar XI.

Ochoa has earned 61 international caps for Mexico and played a crucial role in their run to the second round of the World Cup.
