Federico Viviani will not turn out for Leeds United next season and is poised to rejoin Latina Calcio.

The promising Roma midfielder was wanted at Elland Road by Leeds president Massimo Cellino and even headed over to England to complete a switch.

A season-long loan with the Yorkshire giants was on the table and Viviani was just one step away from joining Cellino's revolution.

But the move has fallen through and, according to Sky Italia, Viviani is heading back to Latina Calcio.

The midfielder spent the latter half of last season on loan at the Serie B club, helping them mount a playoff charge.

Latina Calcio were desperate to bring Viviani back to the club for a second spell and it appears they are moving towards having their wish granted.

Leeds have switched their attention to AC Milan starlet Zan Benedicic and are expected to quickly do a deal for the Slovenian.
