Serie A club Genoa have confirmed the signing of Iago Falque from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 24-year-old joined Spurs from Juventus on a loan deal in August 2011 and made his move permanent in January 2012.

However, the winger failed to make his mark at White Hart Lane as he spent loan spells at Southampton, Almeria and Rayo Vallecano during his time at Tottenham.

Falque, who made 11 appearances in all competitions for the north London club, scored three goals in 28 La Liga matches for Rayo Vallecano last term.

The former Spain Under-21 international joined Barcelona’s youth system from Real Madrid in 2001, but failed to break into the club’s first-team.

Falque, who successfully passed his medical this morning, will try to help Genoa better their 14th-place Serie A finish from last season.
