Angel di Maria’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is set to meet Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to accelerate the negotiations over the transfer of his client.

Di Maria is widely believed to be on his way out of the club, a claim that has been vehemently opposed by Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are the top contenders to land the Argentine this summer, as Real Madrid look to recoup funds after signing James Rodriguez, but the player is inclining towards the Parisians.

He is believed to have been offered €8m per season in wages by PSG, a proposal he is set on taking if the French side can do a deal with Real Madrid.

However, the French champions are struggling to put together a bid for Di Maria that will keep them on the right side of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules, which is delaying the transfer.

Various options have been discussed, including a season-long loan deal to PSG for Di Maria, with a mandatory purchase option for next summer.

The winger is feeling increasingly frustrated over the delays and his agent is set to meet Perez in New York, where Los Blancos are on tour, to accelerate the process, according to Marca.

Mendes is set to discuss the various aspects of the transfer with the Real Madrid president and hope to convince Perez to sanction his client’s departure from the Santiago Bernabeu as soon as possible.
