West Brom have submitted a bid of £5m to sign Parma winger Jonathan Biabiany, who has also been linked with Southampton.

The Baggies are keen to do a deal with Parma for the Frenchman and have now fired the opening shot in the transfer battle.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, West Brom's offer for Biabiany is £5m, a sum they hope will be enough to persuade Parma to sell.

The former France Under-21 winger has proved to be a key man for Parma since first joining the club in 2011; he had enjoyed a prior spell with Parma between 2009 and 2010.

Biabiany clocked up 36 appearances in Serie A for Parma last term, scoring six goals and providing seven assists for his team-mates.
