New Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski will not write off former club Borussia Dortmund when it comes to challenging for the Bundesliga title in the upcoming campaign.

The Bavarians blew Dortmund, along with every other Bundesliga side, away last season as they marched to the title in record time.

And they have only strengthened this summer, with one of the arrivals being Lewandowski himself.

The Poland international does not believe it would be wise to underestimate Jurgen Klopp's men however.

"Dortmund are always dangerous and they have shown they can recover from losing players, such as Nuri Sahin, Shinji Kagawa and Mario Gotze", the striker told Bild.

"To write off Dortmund would be dangerous.

"They are serious contenders for us and we need the rivalry as it is to make ourselves better", he concluded.

Lewandowski is set to make his official Bayern Munich debut against Dortmund in the DFL Supercup to be played on 13th August.
