Frank Lampard has joined Manchester City in a loan-deal from MLS outfit New York City FC until the start of next year.

The England international agreed to join New York, a joint venture between the New York Yankees and Manchester City, earlier this summer on a free transfer from Chelsea.




The new franchise will play their first season in the MLS from next year therefore Manchester City have agreed to take the midfielder on loan until the start of the new American season.

Lampard is thrilled at the opportunity of playing for Manchester City ahead of joining New York next year.
 


"Joining up with Manchester City is a fantastic opportunity for me to continue to train and play at the top level and make sure I am in top condition for New York City”, Lampard told the club’s official site.

Manuel Pellegrini is also excited at the prospect of working with the vastly experienced midfielder.

Lampard is Chelsea’s record goalscorer with 208 goals from 626 appearances for the club.
