Leeds United manager David Hockaday has claimed that defender Frederik Sorensen has not yet signed for the club, but has admitted he is on a list of targets discussed with president Massimo Cellino and director of football Nicola Salerno.

Sorensen is thought to be on his way to Leeds from Juventus on a season-long loan deal. Indeed, the Yorkshire giants have thrashed out a loan fee of €380,000 with the Bianconeri, while adding a purchase option set at €3.5m.

But if a deal is done for Sorensen, Hockaday is not yet aware, insisting that he has not been told the defender has joined.

"Sorensen to my knowledge hasn't signed", Hockaday told a press conference today.

Pressed on whether the Danish defender would be arriving though, the Leeds boss replied: "I don't know.

"He was on the list [of targets] so whether he signs or not that's not my domain."

Hockaday does have two new arrivals on his hands for Saturday's Championship opener against Millwall however, with Nicky Ajose and Zan Benedicic both available.
