Turkish giants Galatasaray are keeping a close watch on Lukas Podolski's situation at Arsenal, with the forward's contract having just two years left to run.

The Istanbul giants are firm admirers of Podolski and are tracking the former Bayern Munich man in the event an opportunity to snap him up arises this summer, according to Turkish outlet AMK.



Podolski joined the Gunners from boyhood club 1.FC Koln in 2012, penning a five-year contract at the Emirates Stadium.

With just two years left on his present deal, it is not clear whether the German will reach an extension agreement, especially given Arsenal's reluctance to offer players lucrative contracts long beyond their 30th birthday.

 


Podolski however is a popular figure at the Emirates Stadium and has made a total of 69 appearances for the Gunners, scoring on 28 occasions.

Galatasaray are coached by former Italy boss Cesare Prandelli, who led the Azzurri at the World Cup in Brazil.
