Tottenham Hotspur are closing on doing a deal to sign Seattle Sounders full-back DeAndre Yedlin, who starred for the United States at the World Cup.

According to the BBC, the 21-year-old has headed for London to complete a move to White Hart Lane, having been identified as a priority target by Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Yedlin has been linked with leaving the MLS throughout the summer, with Italian Serie A pair Genoa and Roma on his tail.

The American was even invited to train with Liverpool in order that Reds boss Brendan Rodgers could take a closer look at his talents.

But now it appears the United States international is heading to Tottenham.
