Real Madrid talisman Cristiano Ronaldo has lauded the club’s summer signings Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez after their performance in the 2-0 win over Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup last night.

Kroos and Rodriguez, who joined Los Blancos from Bayern Munich and Monaco respectively this summer, were in action in a competitive game for the first time for their new employers at the Cardiff City Stadium.

However, it was Ronaldo who was in the spotlight, following his brace, which handed Real Madrid the trophy.

But the Portuguese international, who branded Kroos and Rodriguez “fantastic players”, feels the pair are settling well at Real Madrid.

"Kroos and James are integrating very well and I wish them all the best in their adaptation", Ronaldo told FIFA’s official site.

"They did well. They're fantastic players."

Ronaldo struggled with a knee injury during the World Cup and played just one pre-season game before last night’s encounter.

And the 29-year-old acknowledged that he had been apprehensive about his return to competitive football.

"It was my first official match this season and I wasn't sure what would happen, but I felt good", he added.
