Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of United States international right-back DeAndre Yedlin.

The defender, who impressed at the World Cup with Jurgen Klinsmann's men, had drawn interest from Anderlecht, Roma, Genoa, Liverpool and Lyon.

But he has opted for a move to White Hart Lane, though will not land in London until next summer.

Indeed, despite signing a four-year contract with Mauricio Pochettino's side, Yedlin will remain with Seattle Sounders until the start of the 2015/16 campaign.

"I'm very excited. I'm excited to get into the Premier League and challenge myself against some of the best players in world", he told Spurs TV.

"I know with the new coach coming in it's a style which fits the way I play. So that's a big reason I've made this decision", Yedlin continued.

"I'm a very attack-minded defender and any chance I get to go forward I love it."
