Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg have snapped up midfielder Javi Garcia from Manchester City.

Andre Villas-Boas' men have splashed out a fee of £13m to bag the Spaniard, signing him to a five-year contract in St. Petersburg.

Garcia joined Manchester City from Benfica in 2012, costing the Citizens a fee of £16m to capture.

The midfielder struggled to cement a regular spot in the side though and slid out of the picture under first Roberto Mancini and last season Manuel Pellegrini.

Now the Spanish schemer is heading to Russia in a big-money move to link up with ex-Tottenham and Chelsea manager Villas-Boas.
