Crystal Palace have officially confirmed the departure of manager Tony Pulis, just one day before the new Premier League campaign kicks off tomorrow.

News of Pulis' departure from the job at Selhurst Park broke last night, but the club did not confirm the former Stoke manager had left.

Now Palace have confirmed that they are looking for a new manager, with Pulis' going via mutual consent.

The Eagles announced: "Crystal Palace Football Club can confirm that Tony Pulis has left the club by mutual consent with immediate effect.

"Keith Millen will be in temporary charge of the team for our opening Barclays Premier League game against Arsenal this Saturday.

"The club would like to thank Tony for his efforts with the club during last season and wish him all the best for the future."

Pulis took over a Palace side struggling last season and transformed them on the pitch, with the Eagles eventually finishing 11th in the Premier League.

He is thought to have been frustrated by the club's inability to land transfer targets this summer.
