Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon have asked Manchester United about the availability of winger Nani.

The future of the Portuguese at Old Trafford is unclear, with Nani himself having admitted upon his return from the World Cup that he could well switch clubs this summer.



Van Gaal brought Nani off the bench for Manchester United's Premier League opener against Swansea today.

However, it remains to be seen whether the winger is in the Dutchman's plans for the new era at Old Trafford.

 


And according to Portuguese sports daily A Bola, Nani's former club Sporting Lisbon have made contact with Manchester United.

The capital club are keen to discover whether Nani is available for transfer.

Nani came through the youth ranks at Sporting Lisbon, breaking through to the club's first team in 2005. He switched to Manchester United in 2007 for €25.5m.
