The race for Juan Cuadrado is entering its final stages as Fiorentina stand ready to conclude a deal to sell the winger to either Barcelona or Manchester United.

Cuadrado has been linked with an exit from La Viola throughout the summer and was left out of the club's pre-season friendly against Real Madrid yesterday, something which further raised speculation the Colombian is heading for the exit door.

Coach Vincenzo Montella tried to cool departure talk by suggesting as Cuadrado is suspended for the Serie A opener, he wanted to field the team which would take on Roma.

However, according to Italian daily La Nazione, the race for the Colombian's signature has now entered its final stages.

Fiorentina are ready to sell Cuadrado for €40m and are expecting Manchester United to come forward with a bid.

The situation surrounding Barcelona is unclear though, as despite the Blaugrana being keen on Cuadrado, they have been reluctant to meet Fiorentina's asking price.

It remains to be seen whether they change their stance before the window slams shut.
