Harry Redknapp admits that Queens Park Rangers lack depth and said that he would like to strengthen the squad before the transfer window closes next month.

The newly-promoted London side suffered a home defeat at the hands of Hull City on Saturday and Redknapp admits that he needs to add a few more players to strengthen his squad.

"We need to get a couple more in, we're short in some areas", the QPR manager was quoted as saying by the BBC.

The 67-year-old identified the midfield as an area where the QPR squad lack strength in depth.

He also added that he needs to sign at least one more striker to add firepower to the squad, which could prove crucial in the final scheme of things.

“I've got three central midfield players – Joey Barton, Alejandro Faurlin and Karl Henry – when you need six midfield players really at this level.

"So we're looking to get one or two midfielders in and maybe a front man as well because we need a bit of cover there. You need four strikers in an ideal world."

QPR will make the short trip to White Hart Lane next Sunday to take on Tottenham Hotspur, who made a winning start to their campaign against West Ham this weekend.
