Bordeaux director Nicolas de Tavernost believes that his side have a good chance of signing Liverpool defender Tiago Ilori on loan.

The Portuguese centre-back, who spent the last half of last term on loan in Spain with Granada, was present at Bordeaux's Ligue 1 match against Monaco yesterday.

And De Tavernost feels the French outfit made a positive impression on Ilori, with the 21-year-old now expected to put pen to paper on a deal.

"I think he was convinced", the director was quoted as saying by Maxifoot.

"He toured the facilities, met with the president. I am confident."

Liverpool snapped up Ilori from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon last summer, paying £7m to sign the promising defender.

However, Ilori struggled to force his way into the first team reckoning at Anfield and was quickly loaned out.
