Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling feels his side need to show courage in their next Premier League fixture against Manchester City on 25th August.

The Reds won their Premier League opener against Southampton 2-1 yesterday, with Sterling finding the back of the net at Anfield in the first half, before Daniel Sturridge sealed all three points.

Liverpool will now face champions Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur before the end of the month, with both those matches being away games.

However, Sterling is confident about the Merseyside giants coming out with positive results from the two matches, if they play their normal game.

But the starlet, who was impressed with Liverpool’s courage against Southampton, insisted that his side will be taking one game at a time.

"If we play our normal game, we'll be fine in those two games", Sterling told the club’s official site.

“Today we showed courage and that's what we need to show at City next week.

"We'll go out and play our usual game, and hopefully we can get the three points. Last season we had a tough start as well but we got the wins.

"That's what we're looking to do, taking it game by game. We'll go out there next week and try to do our best and get the three points again."

Sterling, who represented England at the World Cup in Brazil, scored 10 goals in all competitions for Liverpool in the 2013/14 campaign.
