Sevilla have reached an agreement in principle with their La Liga rivals Valencia for the transfer of Ever Banega.

The Argentina international would become Sevilla’s eight summer signing if he passes his medical with Los Nervionenses.

Banega, who joined Valencia from Boca Juniors in 2008, spent the second half of last season on loan at Newell's Old Boys.

The midfielder amassed 185 appearances in all competitions for Los Che, scoring 11 times and also had a loan spell at Ateltico Madrid during his stay at the Mestalla.

At Sevilla, the 26-year-old will be reunited with current manager Unai Emery, under whom he previously played at Valencia.
