Jose Mourinho has revealed that Chelsea have no intention of selling custodian Petr Cech, despite Thibaut Courtois being in goal for his side in their 3-1 win over Burnley yesterday.

The Czech Republic international has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, following Courtois’ return to the club after a three-year successful loan spell at Atletico Madrid.

But Mourinho, who lauded the Belgian’s display at Turf Moor, insisted that Courtois is not Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper for the rest of the season.

However, the Portuguese tactician explained that the youngster will start against Leicester City at the weekend, and also added that he expects Cech to win back his place between the sticks by training hard.

“He’s [Courtois is] not my first choice for the rest of the season. He was my first choice today and he played well enough to be my first choice for the next game", Mourinho explained to the club's official site.

“I want to keep Petr and the club wants to keep him. Hopefully he stays. No player is happy when he’s not playing every game.

“I know Petr for 10 years and I know he will not relax. He will be the opposite. I’m expecting him to go to the training ground on Wednesday, be a top professional and fight to be back in goal.”

Cech, who joined Chelsea from Rennes in 2004, has thus far amassed 478 appearances in all competitions for the Blues, keeping 220 clean sheets.
