Denmark national team manager Morten Olsen has refused to rule out Daniel Agger from the upcoming European Championship qualifiers.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that the central defender is injured and is not undergoing training at the moment.

Agger last played his competitive match in May for Demark against Sweden, but Olsen is refusing to give up hope on the 29-year-old, making upcoming games against Turkey and Armenia.

The Dane is taking each day at a time and is hoping that Agger will recover from his injury in time for the qualifiers.

“A lot can happen every single day", Olsen told BT.

“It's not so much about right now, but what happens in a week or ten days.”

Olsen previously ruled out Nicklas Bendtner from national selection due to a lack of game time, but has refused to draw parallels between the former Arsenal striker and Agger.

“The difference is of course that Bendtner has not played since March, so I do not think you should compare the two.”
