FC Twente manager Alfred Schreuder admits that it is refreshing to see Hakim Ziyech choosing the Dutch outfit over a more lucrative offer from Feyenoord.

Ziyech, a youth product of Heerenveen, joined Twente yesterday on a four-year contract.

Feyenoord were also interested in signing the creative midfielder, but the 21-year-old talent chose to join Schreuder’s side.

The Twente manager is amazed at Ziyech’s decision to accept a less lucrative offer from the Tukkers, but pleased nonetheless.

"We find it extraordinary how this guy is busy with his career", Schreuder told Spits.

“It is also very nice to see that finally there is someone whose career decisions are not based on money.”

The attacking midfielder made 46 senior appearances for Heerenveen, scoring 13 goals and providing eleven assists.

He has also represented the Dutch Under-21 team but has so far failed to make it to the senior national team.
