Leicester City are speeding towards the capture of former Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso.

The Argentine has been a free agent since parting ways with Inter at the end of last season and Leicester boss Nigel Pearson has made him a priority capture.

Now, according to Spanish daily Marca, the Foxes are just one step away from sealing Cambiasso's arrival at the King Power Stadium.

The 34-year-old, who won 52 caps for Argentina between 2000 and 2011, clocked up a ten-year stint with Inter, having signed for the Italian giants from Real Madrid in 2004.

Cambiasso could be joined at Leicester by countryman Pablo Alvarez, who currently turns out for Catania.
