Luis Suarez made his Barcelona debut in the club’s 6-0 rout of Club Leon in the Joan Gamper Trophy last night.

The Uruguay international, who joined the Catalans from Liverpool earlier in the summer, is currently serving a four-month ban for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup.

Suarez’s four-month ban was upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) last week, but the striker was freed to train and play in friendly matches.

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique introduced Suarez in the 75th minute at the Camp Nou, and the 27-year-old received a grand reception by the club’s faithful.

However, the forward failed to find the back of the net against Club Leon, who were defeated courtesy of Neymar and Munir El Haddadi’s braces and a goal apiece from Lionel Messi and Sandro.
