Manchester United have announced that they have agreed a deal with Sporting Lisbon for the signature of defender Marcos Rojo.

Rojo, who starred for Argentina in the World Cup earlier this summer, was the subject of a €20m bid from Manchester United last week.

Sporting Lisbon were unwilling to sell and Rojo promptly went on strike in an attempt to force through the switch.

He has since returned to training, but bid his goodbyes to his team-mates earlier today and has been waiting for the green light to travel to England.

That has now arrived and Manchester United have confirmed they will discuss personal terms with Rojo, while the player will also undergo a medical.
