The Ghana FA have confirmed that Mubarak Wakaso is joining Celtic on a season-long loan deal from Rubin Kazan.

Reports of Celtic’s interest in the winger emerged yesterday as the Hoops upped the ante to bring the 24-year-old to Scotland.

The winger started his career in his homeland with Ashanti Gold before moving to Spain, first with Elche, then Villarreal, before moving to Espanyol in 2012.

Wakaso joined Rubin Kazan last summer, but failed to nail down a starting spot and only made 18 appearances in all competitions for the Russian outfit.

However, he is all set to join the Scottish champions on a season-long loan deal.
