West Ham have lodged an enquiry with Fiorentina over defender Facundo Roncaglia.

The Hammers, despite bringing in a number of players this summer, are on the lookout to further add to their squad and the Argentina defender has popped onto their radar.

Roncaglia, who can operate as both a centre-back and a right-back, has been interesting Genoa of late.

However, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, West Ham have now asked Fiorentina about the 27-year-old's availability.

Fiorentina snapped up Roncaglia in 2012 from Argentine giants Boca Juniors.

The defender struggled for game time with La Viola last term, managing just 13 appearances in Serie A for Vincenzo Montella's men.

Roncaglia, who is under contract with Fiorentina until 2016, has won one senior cap for Argentina.
