German champions Bayern Munich are pondering over a move for Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Marco Verratti.

Verratti, who joined PSG from Italian side Pescara in 2012, still has four years left on his contract with the club.

The Italian midfielder is one of brightest young midfield talents in Europe and has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and Arsenal this summer.

However, Bayern Munich are the latest club to be linked with a move for the 21-year-old playmaker.

The Bavarians suffered a major blow last week after Javi Martinez was ruled out for six to seven months due to a tear in his anterior cruciate ligaments.

Therefore, the German champions are in the market to sign a midfielder and are thinking about a move for Verratti, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

PSG on the other hand are reluctant to sell the 21-year-old as they see him as a major player for the club in the future.

The Parisians can afford to dig their heels on Verratti as the player still has four years left on his deal and Bayern Munich might need to bid an astronomical sum to convince PSG to sanction the Italian’s sale.
