Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny insists that his side are confident of qualifying for the Champions League group stage.

The Gunners drew the first leg of their playoff tie away in Turkey 0-0 against Besiktas last night, leaving the contest delicately poised ahead of the return at the Emirates Stadium.

Sczesny feels that Besiktas provided Arsenal with a good test, but is nevertheless confident of doing the business in the second leg on home turf.

"We always want to play better and the only thing we can focus on is getting a result in the second leg", he told his club's site.

"It doesn't have to be a pretty one but we want to get through and secure Champions League football.

"I thought it was very enjoyable. It was a fantastic atmosphere and a very tough game. It was exactly what you would expect from a Champions League fixture.

"It was a good test for us and we came out with a clean sheet which is a positive. We'll be confident going into the second leg."

Arsenal will have to make do without Aaron Ramsey for the return, with the midfielder being sent off for two bookable offences in Turkey.
