Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is hoping for Inter to make an offer for his services, as he sits on a proposal to join Sunderland.

Borini has seen Liverpool accept an offer of £12m plus a further £2m in bonus payments from Sunderland, with the ball now in the striker's court over his future.

Sunderland are hopeful Borini will agree to return to the Stadium of Light, where he spent last term on loan, but the striker is waiting for other options.

And one of those is Inter, with Borini, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, hoping the Nerazzurri firm up their interest.

Borini is one of several strikers under consideration at the San Siro, as Inter look to add another player to their forward line.

The former Roma man would jump at the chance to join Inter and return to his homeland, but it is far from clear whether the Nerazzurri will make a move for him.

Borini helped Sunderland successfully avoid relegation from the Premier League last term and established himself as a fan favourite at the Stadium of Light.

Liverpool snapped the striker up from Roma in 2012, paying just over £10m to secure his signature.
