Luka Modric has signed a new contract with Real Madrid which will keep him in the Spanish capital until 2018.

The Croat joined Los Blancos from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012 for a transfer fee of £26m.

The 28-year-old midfielder took time to settle down in the Spanish capital, but now is a key member of the Real Madrid squad.

He played a crucial role in the club winning their tenth European Cup last season and clocked up 49 appearances for Los Blancos in all competitions.

Real Madrid have now rewarded Modric for his good performances in the previous campaign with a new four-year contract.
