Mehdi Benatia has reached an agreement with Bayern Munich and set his heart on joining the German champions.

The Bavarians have been speeding ahead towards the capture of the Roma centre-back, who has also been on the radar at English giants Manchester United.

According to French sports daily L'Equipe, Benatia's agent Moussa Sissoko was in Munich on Monday for talks with Bayern Munich, during which he achieved an agreement with the Bundesliga side over his client.

Yesterday Sissoko was in Rome, speaking to Roma about selling Benatia to Bayern Munich for €30m.

Roma want a minimum of €35m for the former Udinese defender, but Sissoko has informed the Serie A side that his client is set on joining Bayern Munich and advised them to quickly agree to a transfer.
